Car Lock Repair
Car lock repair or car lock replacement
Lost, stolen, or broken car keys are always a problem in terms of having the vehicle unusable at best, at worst being at risk of being stolen. A couple of other reasons that could render a vehicle unusable are the car lock and the ignition barrel.
A broken car key can most of the time be repaired and have the vehicle restored to its full functionality of. A lost or stolen car key can always be replaced but to have the car fully secured the car locks and the ignition barrel would have to be replaced and have the old keys deleted from the memory of the vehicle. The above process must be done by an experienced auto locksmith company as beside experience, it will also require knowledge and advanced equipment. At Lost car Key you will find all that and more. Repair before replace
On another note, car locks and/or ignition barrels with time may need to be replaced at worst or repaired at best. The reason can vary from a badly worn key that could jam either the car lock, ignition barrel or the boot lock and not allow the car key to be fully inserted and therefore not turn. When this happens Lost Car Key can perform a car lock repair service to restore its full functionality. At Lost Car Key, we will always attempt to repair the locks or the ignition barrel first and only recommend replacement if no repair is possible or the security of the vehicle is compromised. If it happens that you may have different keys for the ignition barrel, door lock or boot lock, Lost Car Key, can rearrange the pins or wafers so one car key will work with either of them. At the same time, to keep in mind that newer cars have a centralised locking system, which means locking and unlocking occur when the buttons are pressed on the remote key fob. As the traditional locks may go bad from time to time and need to be repaired or replaced, so is the central locking. Sometimes the fob key may, for no apparent reason de-synchronise and to gain immediate access to the vehicle, the emergency key that comes fitted with the fob key may be used. And when that happens, the fob key will need to be re-synchronised to restore its functionality.
Useful tip:
Lubricating the car locks from time to time may prolong its lifespan especially when not being used frequently.
